APPSC AEE Recruitment 2026: 503 Assistant Executive Engineer posts in AP for B.E/B.Tech, age 18-44, CBRT exam. Apply online by 22 Nov 2026, 11:59 PM.

Post code-wise vacancies, eligibility, CBRT pattern, salary and a 30-day plan for Civil, Mechanical and Electrical graduates
If you hold a B.E or B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical and have been waiting for a proper Andhra Pradesh engineering notification, this is the one. The APPSC AEE Recruitment 2026 brings 503 Assistant Executive Engineer posts under Notification No. 27/2026, spread across six state engineering departments, with Water Resources alone taking 224 of them. Compare that with the last AEE notification, which had just 3 carried-forward posts in Rural Water Supply, and you can see why every AP engineering aspirant is talking about it.
I went through the full detailed notification dated 02/11/2026, the brief notice of 13/10/2026 and the 2025 AEE notification, so this page explains eligibility branch by branch, the three-paper CBRT, the Computer Proficiency Test, the zone-wise seats and what changed from last time. As of 7 November 2026 APPSC has not announced the exam date, so wherever something is not official yet I have marked it "To be notified".
✓ Apply / focus if you have a B.E/B.Tech (or AMIE Sections A & B, where allowed) in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical, you were born on or after 02/07/1982 (more with relaxation), and you can put in three months of serious technical revision. Civil graduates have the widest choice, with 478 of 503 posts open to them.
✗ Skip if you are an Electrical graduate hoping for many seats (only 4 posts, all in R&B), you studied ECE, CSE or another branch (not eligible), or you are from outside AP and expect reservation (open posts only).
Why: this is a single-level exam with no screening test, 450 marks of objective papers where two-thirds of the weight is pure engineering, and the age limit is 44 this time, two years more than in 2025.

APPSC AEE Exam Pattern 2026 (CBRT)
| Paper | Subject | Questions | Time | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paper I | General Studies & Mental Ability (all post codes) | 150 | 150 min | 150 |
| Paper II | Civil & Mechanical Engineering (common) for P.C. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8; Electrical Engineering for P.C. 5 | 150 | 150 min | 150 |
| Paper III | Civil Engg. (P.C. 1, 3, 4, 7) / Civil & Mech common (P.C. 2, 6) / Electrical Engg. (P.C. 5) / Mechanical Engg. (P.C. 8) | 150 | 150 min | 150 |
| Total | 450 | 7.5 hours | 450 |
- Single level, no screening test, however many people apply. It is an online Computer Based Recruitment Test.
- Negative marking: one-third of the question's marks is cut for every wrong answer (G.O.Ms.No.235 of 2016).
- All three papers are compulsory. Missing even one disqualifies you.
- Paper III for P.C. 02 and 06 runs in a separate session. Your merit for those two post codes is counted on that paper; for the rest it is counted on your branch paper.
- Normalisation: if a paper runs in more than one session, scores are normalised and announced on a percentile basis.
- Minimum qualifying marks (aggregate): OC, EWS, sportspersons and ex-servicemen 40%, BCs 35%, SCs, STs and PBDs 30%. Reaching it does not guarantee a post.
- Answer key objections: within 3 days of the initial key, Rs 100 per objection, refunded if your objection is accepted.
Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)
Candidates shortlisted after the written exam must clear a 60-minute practical CPT of 100 marks: MCQs on computer basics (20%) plus hands-on tasks covering a formatted Word document, typing speed, inserting objects, an Excel sheet with formulas and charts, and a PowerPoint deck. Pass marks are 40 for OC, 35 for BC and 30 for SC/ST/PBD. It does not add to your merit, but failing it ends your selection, so practise MS Office or LibreOffice now.

On the 2025 cycle, APPSC posted the final key and result on 23/04/2026, the selection list on 20/05/2026 and the marks of selected candidates on 16/06/2026, according to its portal. So the previous small recruitment closed within about nine months of the notification. A 503-post CBRT with CPT will likely take longer, but that is my guess, not an official timeline.
Previous Cut-offs and Safe Score
Straight answer: APPSC has not published a category-wise cut-off for AEE. For Notification 17/2025 it released marks of the 3 selected candidates (16/06/2026) and each candidate's marks in their own login (23/09/2026). With only three seats, those marks say very little about a 503-post contest anyway. I could not open the selected-marks PDF from the official server while preparing this page, so I am not quoting any figure from it; you can check it here on psc.ap.gov.in.
Competition Estimate
APPSC has not released applicant numbers for its earlier AEE recruitments in any document I could find, so there is no honest applicants-per-post figure. What the official numbers do say: 503 posts now against 3 in 2025, and 478 of them are open to Civil graduates, so Civil competition will be the heaviest in absolute terms while Electrical, with 4 seats, will be the tightest per post. I will add the applicant count here if APPSC publishes it.
Exam Language, Centres and the AP Angle
- Languages: Paper I (GS & Mental Ability) is set in English and translated into Telugu; the English version is final for valuation. Papers II and III are in English only.
- Centres: the CBRT is held in the 13 erstwhile districts: Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapuramu. You give three preferences; APPSC can still allot elsewhere.
- Local reservation: 95% of each zone's seats go to local candidates of that zone under the Presidential Order 2025. Local status is based on four consecutive years of study (or residence) up to the qualifying exam, so keep your study certificates ready.
- Zones: I (Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli), II (Alluri Sitarama Raju, East Godavari, Kakinada, Konaseema), III (West Godavari, Eluru, NTR, Krishna), IV (Guntur, Palnadu, Bapatla, Prakasam, Nellore), V (Tirupati, Chittoor, Annamayya, YSR Kadapa), VI (Nandyal, Anantapuramu, Kurnool, Sri Sathya Sai).
- Biggest pockets: Zone VI (62 WR Civil), Zones III and V (48 each in WR Civil) and Zone I (23 in PR&RD).
- Telangana candidates can apply for open posts but get no reservation or fee exemption. Those who migrated from Telangana to AP between 02/06/2014 and 01/06/2024 need a local status certificate.

How to Apply for APPSC AEE 2026
- Go to psc.ap.gov.in. First-time applicant? Complete One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) to get your OTPR ID. OTPR by itself is not an application.
- Already registered? Check your OTPR data first. Name, community, white card and local status are pulled from OTPR and drive your fee and age relaxation; fix them with "Modify OTPR" before you start.
- Log in with your OTPR ID and password, open Online Application Submission and click Fill Application against Notification 27/2026.
- Fill local/non-local status, qualification, post code preferences and three exam centre preferences.
- Click Save & Submit. Plain "Save" does not submit; only Save & Submit opens the payment link.
- Pay online, note the payment reference ID (an SMS also comes) and download the application PDF.
- If payment fails, start again from the application step; do not assume it went through.
30-Day APPSC AEE Prep Plan
| Week | Technical (Paper II + III) | Paper I (GS & MA) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Strength of materials and fluid mechanics (Paper II core) – formulas sheet + 100 MCQs a day | AP current affairs of the last 12 months; reasoning 30 Q a day |
| 2 | Your branch paper, part 1 (Civil: materials, structures, RCC & steel; Mech: thermo, heat transfer, RAC; EEE: machines, transformers) | Polity, economy, AP geography; data analysis practice |
| 3 | Branch paper, part 2 (Civil: hydraulics, environment, soil, surveying & highways; Mech: TOM, design, manufacturing, IE; EEE: power systems, protection) | History with AP focus, science & tech, disaster management |
| 4 | Full mocks: one 150-question paper a day in 150 minutes on the APPSC mock test link; review negatives | Mixed revision; one full GS paper every alternate day |
Free and official resources: the syllabus annexure in the notification, APPSC's own mock test on the home page (use it to get used to the CBRT screen), the 2025 AEE keys on the APPSC Keys page for Paper I and the common engineering paper, and your B.Tech textbooks for Paper III. With one-third negative marking, stop guessing blindly in mocks; mark only what you can narrow down to two options.
Common Mistakes While Applying
- Wrong OTPR data. Name, community, white card and age-relaxation fields are locked after payment, and even the 7-day edit window will not open them.
- Stopping at "Save". Without Save & Submit and payment, your application is incomplete.
- Choosing a post code your branch does not cover. A Mechanical graduate can go for P.C. 02, 06 or 08 only; Electrical only for P.C. 05.
- Degree not in hand by 02/11/2026, or an "equivalent" degree without the G.O. copy sent within 10 days of the last date.
- Old BC or EWS certificates. BC non-creamy layer and EWS certificates must be issued on or after 01/04/2026 (FY 2025-26).
- Photo and signature. Upload your own recent colour passport photo and signature in JPG. Keep the same look till the end; a mismatch at verification can disqualify you.
- Missing study or residence certificates for local status. Without them you may be treated as non-local.
- Waiting till 22 November night. The portal closes at 11:59 PM, and payment-gateway hiccups are common on the last day.
