SSC GD Constable 2026 Syllabus
Exam Pattern, Marks, Negative Marking, Topic-wise Syllabus & PET/PST Standards
The SSC GD Constable 2026 Syllabus is short and very doable, but the competition is not. With 25,487 posts across BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, Assam Rifles and SSF, lakhs of 10th pass candidates write this exam, and a lot of them from our two Telugu states. The written paper is just 60 minutes long, but after that you also have to clear a running test and body measurements. Here is the full exam pattern, negative marking, topic-wise syllabus and the PET/PST standards, written straight from SSC’s official notice.

SSC GD Constable 2026 Syllabus: Topic-wise Breakdown
Part-A: General Intelligence and Reasoning
SSC says this part checks your analytical aptitude and how well you spot patterns, mostly with non-verbal questions. Topics named in the notice:
| Type | Topics |
|---|---|
| Verbal & logic | Analogies, Similarities and Differences, Relationship Concepts, Coding and Decoding, Arithmetical Reasoning, Arithmetic Number Series |
| Non-verbal & visual | Spatial Visualization, Spatial Orientation, Visual Memory, Discrimination, Observation, Figural Classification, Non-verbal Series |
Part-B: General Knowledge and General Awareness
Questions test your awareness of the world around you: current events, and everyday observations from a scientific angle. There will also be questions on India and its neighbouring countries, especially Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, the Indian Constitution and Scientific Research. SSC clearly says these will not need special study of any one subject, so broad reading works better than deep notes.
Part-C: Elementary Mathematics
| Area | Topics |
|---|---|
| Numbers | Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions, Relationship between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical Operations |
| Arithmetic | Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount |
| Applied | Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work |
Part-D: English / Hindi
You choose English or Hindi. The section checks basic understanding and simple comprehension of the language, nothing advanced.
